11 Wrestlers Who Would Rather Do Nothing Than Work For WWE

2. Terry Funk

There are a number of tales of woe on this list - stories of disgruntled, disillusioned or disappointed performers simply knocking back Vince McMahon and WWE because they felt knocked back themselves.

This is not one of those tales.

In November 1993, Terry Funk was set to be one of Jerry 'The King' Lawler's masked knights for a planned Survivor Series clash with Bret Hart and The Hart Family to finally pay off the months-long angle between the two team captains. Shortly before the contest completely fell to bits amidst legal troubles for Lawler, Funk bailed on the entire match because he didn't really fancy it.

At least, that's what we're left to assume that day, unless his hilarious note to Vince McMahon was a rare case of a wrestler telling the truth. Simply letting the Chairman know "my horse is sick. I think he's dying. I'll see you later", Funk was out of the door to instead try his luck with ECW.

Upon welcoming him back for a run as Chainsaw Charlie in 1997, McMahon is rumoured to have asked "how's your horse?", suggesting that Funk's charm had done more than just earn him yet another opportunity.
