2. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho has often said on his podcast that he never wants to work for anyone other than Vince McMahon, but in December 2016 he did just that—albeit rather briefly.

On 10 December, Jericho showed up at the International Wrestling Cartel event in Elizabeth, PA. Rather than competing in action, though, he simply acted as the guest ring announcer for the IWC Super Indy Title match between Chris LeRusso and Sam Adonis.

What made his appearance all the more surprising was the fact that it arrived right in the midst of his most recent WWE run. Just five days previously, he’d been challenging Roman Reigns for the United States Championship on Raw, and just 48 hours later he was down the road in Philly to team with Kevin Owens on Raw in tag team action.

Prior to that, it seems he also made an indie appearance at the WXW Gary Albright Memorial show in April of 2000, where he faced Eddie Guerrero in a match that, predictably, was said to be just as great as it sounds.
