12 Bizarre Pieces Of Trivia About WWE Action Figures

5. WCW's "Ring Masters" Figures

As you've seen, Jakks had some crazy ideas about what a wrestling action figure could be. It turns out they weren't alone, as Toy Biz had some creative if not sometimes bonkers ideas regarding that as well. One of the more interesting ideas was the "Ring Masters." The concept was simple: Take a wrestler, highlight a part of his gimmick, turn it up to 10, and apply it back to the wrestler in question. This resulted in a Goldberg who used a jackhammer as more than a finisher, a Bret Hart who was a literal hitman, and a Lex Luger who... well, let's just say that when he saw his figure, he probably wishes he'd used a different name for his "Torture Rack" finisher. The most well-remembered, though, would seem to be Chris Jericho's figure (perhaps because he's the only one still active today). Known as "The Lionheart" in WCW, his figure was a little more playful as it represented his more chickenhearted yet boastful persona by giving him a housecat with a faux mane as a "lion" for him to tame in a circus outfit. Ring Masters didn't last too long, however, with only Hollywood Hogan and "The Dog-Faced Gremlin" Rick Steiner getting other figures. We'll leave you to guess what they did for those.
