7. Cesaro - Chris Benoit
Cesaro is lauded as the most criminally underused performer on the entire roster, and rightfully so. For all the lip service from management about talent needing to grab the brass ring and how they listen to the crowd, they took a guy who was poised to be a breakout superstar based on months of rabid fan reactions and shunted him down the card to the point that hes now right back where he started, stuck in a tag team. The problem is for all of Cesaros wrestling prowess, hes not that interesting as a personality although to be fair he hasnt been given much of an opportunity to prove that he can be. Hes a guy who can pull people in through his ring work, captivating with a dazzling arsenal of stylistic moves, but when it comes time to deliver the character moments he probably will never be given much of a stage. This puts him in the same company as the late Chris Benoit: one of the elite workers in the business but lacking the necessary charisma for a sustained push as a top star. Looking back at WrestleMania XX and the run that led up to it, it was sheer force of will from the fans that pushed him into the main event and made him a world champion in WWE. Will Cesaro ever get a crowning moment similar to Benoits coronation at WrestleMania XX? Its too early to tell, but its a safe bet that hell always be viewed as a workhorse who can go in the ring and may occasionally flirt with the main event rather than seeing any real time as a top-tier guy.
