12 Current WWE Stars Who Could Be Legends Reborn

5. Daniel Bryan €“ Kurt Angle

Even though his incredible popularity has cooled somewhat recently, Daniel Bryan still benefits from having the largest hardcore following of any WWE wrestler on the roster. The story of the crowd forcing WWE€™s hand by inserting him into the WrestleMania 30 main event is one for the ages, and this year the same scenario almost repeated, but Vince McMahon out-stubborned his paying customers. Many would like to categorize Bryan as the second coming of Steve Austin or The Rock: the type of transcendent superstar that comes along once a generation, but that simply wouldn€™t be accurate, even if it€™s mainly due to WWE€™s refusal to allow him to become that person. Instead D-Bry is much more Kurt Angle than Hulk Hogan. He€™s the best worker on the roster, can carry anyone to a great match, has enough charisma to be a top draw and a constant main event fixture but will never truly be €œthe guy€. It€™s an apt comparison and one that Daniel probably wouldn€™t mind seeing as how Angle€™s run in WWE is one of the most impressive of all-time with a catalog of classic matches that any wrestler would aspire to. It€™s not a bad role for Bryan at all, just not quite what his fans want for him.
