12 Greatest Wrestling Dynasties Of All Time
7. Windham/Rotunda
The Windham family’s wrestling dynasty started with Blackjack Mulligan, who achieved notoriety as a huge, hard-hitting brawler in the ‘70s and ‘80s. His greatest successes came outside WWE, however, and while part of the company's roster during the 'Golden Era', age prevented him from becoming a national superstar.
Blackjack’s son, Kendall, enjoyed a moderately successful run during the territorial era, but his brother Barry was the family’s real standout. A former member of the Four Horsemen, Barry was one of wrestling’s biggest stars in his prime, producing legendary matches with the likes of Ric Flair, and capturing the NWA World Heavyweight, Tag Team, and United States Championships in his prime.
Mike Rotunda became part of the dynasty by marrying Blackjack’s daughter Stephanie, and while relatively successful in the territories, he’s best remembered for his run as WWE’s Irwin R. Schyster. His two sons, Windham and Taylor, are both active on WWE’s main roster today, competing as Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas respectively, thus keeping the extended family’s presence alive. While Dallas has long since faded into obscurity, Wyatt became WWE Champion for the first time earlier this year, and looks set to play a major role in the company’s programming for the foreseeable future.
