9. Austin Went Three Straight Years With Most Eliminations
When it come to the best run in Royal Rumble history, it is hard to argue with the 3-year run that Stone Cold Steve Austin had in 1997-1999. Austin 3:16 was born on June of 1996 after Stone Cold won King Of The Ring. Half of a year later, Austin was entered in the 1997 Royal Rumble at entrant #5. Then 45 minutes later, Austin rode the wave of the birth of Austin 3:16 to throw out Bret "The Hitman" Hart to win his first Royal Rumble match ever. Austin would then become the third back-to-back winner of the Royal Rumble match by tossing The Rock out last and winning in 1998. Thanks to The Corporation, mostly The Rock, Austin barely missed out on a 3-peat when Vince McMahon of all people won the 1999 Royal Rumble. Throughout those three Royal Rumble matches, Austin had the most eliminations for all of them with a then record 10 eliminations in 1997 to go along with 7 and 8 eliminations in 1998 and 1999 respectively. Since this 3-peat of most eliminations, no wrestler has recorded back-to-back years with the most eliminations.
