8. Bret Hart Was The First Entrant Ever
This coming Sunday's Royal Rumble will be the 28th event in history. Several hundred wrestlers have entered the match for a chance at greatness, and in most cases, a chance at the main event of Wrestlemania. The very first Royal Rumble was held in 1988 in Hamilton, Ontario, and was won by "Hacksaw' Jim Duggan. The very first entrant into the first Royal Rumble was none other than WWE Hall of Famer Bret "The Hitman" Hart. In 1988, Bret Hart was still going strong with Jim "The Anvil" Niedhart as The Hart Foundation. His singles breakthrough really wouldn't begin until 1991, but Hart really impressed as the first entrant to the first Royal Rumble match ever. Not only was he the first ever entrant, he was the first ironman coming in at 25 minutes and 42 seconds before Don Muraco threw him out. Though 1988 wasn't Bret's year, he would go on to be a co-winner of the 1994 Rumble with Lex Luger.
