5. Dash & Dawson Are Hilarious
Having retaken their NXT tag title at NXt Takeover: The End, The Revival turned up on Saturday to headline against Finn Balor and Hugo Knox in an entertaining bill topper that was exactly as it should have been at this sort of event. Rather than getting bogged down with ongoing narrative and established rivalries, this was a non-championship bout designed to entertain purely.
That meant a couple of comedy spots - first with Balor and Knox combining to tickle torture their opponent, and then with Dawson accidentally hitting Dash and sparking an impromptu boxing match between the team-mates (a skit they revived for their 6-man alongside Bobby Roode later against American Alpha and Andrade 'Cien' Almas).
It went down well, and Dash and Dawson bantered well with the crowd (even shrugging off some casual homophobia) throughout the match. Some might call them no more than roster filling jobbers, but they did well here.
They played their part as obnoxious, smarmy heels, fully aware that they weren't going to be able to compete with the irresistible draw of Finn Balor or the local hero tag awarded to Hugo Knox by proximity.
