Both groups broke up and got back together numerous times. The nWo had re-organized in early 1999 to form a black-and-red supergroup. But that nWo formed on one of the most infamous nights in WCW history: The Fingerpoke of Doom. So the group was doomed from the start and was dead within three months. At the end of the year, WCW tried to bring back the nWo in a new silver version which included Bret Hart and Jeff Jarrett, but Bret Harts concussion derailed plans, and the group was dropped after three months when WCW did their reboot. DX had a couple of reunions that were much more successful. Their reuniting at the end of 1999 as a heel stable carried over into the McMahon-Helmsley Faction, and the group was near the top of the card for the first half of the year 2000. As lame as the jokes were, the 2006 revival was also highly successful, as Triple H and Shawn Michaels dominated the storylines. Even the 2009 reunion led to Hunter and HBK capturing the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship in the main event of TLC. DXs reunions allowed a new generation of fans to enjoy the group, watered down as it might have been.
