The WWE Draft has the potential to be one of the most exciting events of the year.

Top names possibly being thrown onto a new show. Fresh match-ups involving a different cast of characters. The possibility of stables being shockingly split up and the talents within them being given the chance to shine on their own.

However, over the last few years, a lot of the magic of the Draft has secretly been sucked out of the experience.

Firstly, WWE's insistence on just having "special guests" wander out onto the stage and call out the picks is probably the most uninspiring way they could go about announcing these big moves.

A return to the much more entertaining Draft Lottery format or just trying something else a little different would definitely make for a far more enjoyable event than the last few dull versions.

And while we're at it, choosing to protect champions this year was also secretly one of the dumbest moves of 2024, too, with that once again draining a lot of the show-hopping fun out of the nights.

Also, what was the point of even holding a Draft if most of the talents actually eligible didn't even end up switching shows anyway? What was presented as an important set of nights on the WWE calendar were secretly just a waste of time in the end.
