12 Super Weird Quirks Unique To ONE Wrestler
6. Bret Hart’s Bouncy Ring Entrance
Wrestling critics have pored over every minute aspect of Bret Hart's work since he broke out on his own away from Jim Neidhart in The Hart Foundation and became a singles star. Immediately, Bret came into his own and turned into one of the absolute best wrestlers walking the planet. Everything he did was safe, silky smooth and professional.
Have you ever stopped to notice the way Hart entered the ring though? WWF cameras didn't always show it, but Bret would sweep a leg over the middle rope, then lightly bounce on it with his butt before pulling the trailing leg over. Pay attention to it next time you watch an old 'Hitman' match and you'll spot it every time from this point on.
Bret would do that constantly, for whatever reason.
Perhaps it was a personal good luck charm, or maybe he just had fun doing it. The people may never know unless someone stops to ask Hart during an interview. If they do (over to you, Chris Van Vliet), then the 'Hitman' might find a way to blame it on Bill Goldberg. 'I pretended the rope was Bill Goldberg so I could fart on it like I was farting on Bill Goldberg', or something.
That wasn't the only thing unique to Hart (something much more satisfying is coming right up), but it has always stuck out in this fan's mind as an important part of his ring entrance. Yours truly actually gets retrospectively hot at the camera crew whenever they fail to shoot bouncy Bret. Give the people what they want!
