12 Times Vince McMahon's Plans Blew Up In His Face

8. Bringing Personal Vendettas Onto TV

For those who didn't know, Vince McMahon is an incredibly petty individual. He takes any slights personally, and he's not above using his pulpit - or his television show - to express his opinion on former employees, mainstream celebrities and media outlets, and anyone else who he feels has wronged him. Needless to say, it makes for TV that only McMahon finds entertaining. In 2009, WWE Raw was forced to move a booked show at Denver's Pepsi Center to Los Angeles's Staples Center after the Denver Nuggets made the NBA playoffs and needed a spot for a home game. While WWE initially came off as the victim in the exchange, they lost all sympathy on the episode of Raw, which involved McMahon confronting a Stan Kroenke (the Nuggets' owner) impersonator in a long segment to open the show. As Kroenke is not a public figure, fans were confused and bored. The "Denver Debacle" pales in comparison to the infamous "Dr. Hiney" sketch, where Vince McMahon decided to humiliate one of his loyal (and most popular) employees, Jim Ross. Ross - whom Vince McMahon has always enjoyed embarrassing for reasons unknown - took a leave from Raw after a colon cancer scare. In response, McMahon aired a ten-minute skit featuring himself as "Dr. Hiney," operating on JR's hindquarters and removing objects - such as a bottle of barbecue sauce and Ross's own head - from it. In the long history of Monday Night Raw, this is considered one of the show's lowest points.
