2018: "How about this, lads: we make a 10-year-old kid a Raw Tag Team Champion at WrestleMania?! Beat that!"

2019: "Hold my beer..."

This has been a horrendous year for tag team wrestling in WWE, with McMahon's hatred of the divisions never more apparent, despite the odd highlight here and there.

The women's belts have met the worst fate. Sasha Banks and Bayley's run started with promise, but the division has been on a constant slide since WrestleMania 35, with champions The IIconics barely showing up on SmackDown, having defended the gold just once in over 80 days. Raw's men's straps have been passed around with no rhyme, reason, or credibility, and talented guys like The Revival haven't been able to elevate them. On SmackDown, Daniel Bryan's champion status should benefit the division, but it's too early to tell if it can be pulled out of the mire.

Talent isn't the problem, as WWE's roster is stuffed with top tandems. The issue, once again, lies with the booking team.
