The first Slammiversary surprise came in the main card's second outing, with Chelsea Green unveiled as Matt Cardona's mystery partner to face Brian Myers and Tenille Dashwood. An intriguing aspect pre-match saw Chelsea combine her actual self with the Laurel Van Ness persona, amalgamating both characters into her gear and entrance.
Mixed tag team matches vary in quality, but this worked for the most part. Sam Beale and Kaleb With A K were brilliant as the smarky b*stards at ringside, while the in-ring efforts of Chelsea were limited for the first half. When 'The Hot Mess' finally got tagged in, she instantly proved WWE wrong with a stellar performance.
Cardona unveiling a cup as Dashwood attempted a low blow again paved the way for Chelsea to hit Tenille down below prior to her I'm Prettier finish for the win. The former Robert Stone Brand member's Canadian Destroyer was also sick, although it did come across at perhaps the wrong time; Petey Williams had just done about four in the previous match.
Nonetheless, this did what it needed to. The Myers and Cardona feud doesn't feel over quite yet given who got the pin, so a supplemental Down for that, but in terms of bringing Chelsea back into the picture, this delivered.
