12 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary 2021

6. Motor City Moose

To get this out of the way; a minor Down must be given to the outcome of this match. Moose should not have been losing to Chris Sabin mere weeks after the Kenny Omega loss. It happened via rollup, so it's hardly the strongest pin to lose from, but regardless, the wrong result here.

The match as a whole, however, was easily one of the night's best for the most part. Moose and Sabin worked the David vs. Goliath style to perfection; the latter working over the knee of Moose throughout the contest worked, too, even if 'The Wrestling God' seemed to perfect about it later when dropkicking Sabin on the ring apron.

Moose said f*ck the rules towards the match's end, hitting both a tight standing Moonsault and a top-rope Moonsault Fallaway Slam. Again, a rollup is what gained the W for Chris Sabin, so it wasn't exactly the biggest win, however, it's still an odd booking choice given IMPACT's positioning of Moose this year. This felt like a way of just getting both men on the pay-per-view card, as the story was a tad dull compared to the remainder of the card. A rematch certainly isn't needed.
