12 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 12)

2. The Best Vince Segment In Ages

Vince McMahon The New Day

The reason AJ Styles and Randy Orton aren't at number one is simple: The New Day and Vince McMahon absolutely killed it in the main event slot, with the babyface duo bringing the fire and determination, and the WWE Chairman delivering his best on-mic performance in a long, long time (and he's never anything worse than good).

The New Day weren't standing for any of Vince's sh*t. McMahon had promised Kofi Kingston a WrestleMania opportunity, but claimed he wasn't deserving of a WWE Championship shot. Big E and Xavier Woods both stood up for their pal, with the former saying "we're not in the mood for you to teach us a damn thing," and Kofi himself was excellent, coming through with exactly the kind of passion essential for any top-level face.

The segment was awesome throughout, and became a home-run as Kofi started listing all the sacrifices he's made for McMahon's company. "I've never been trick or treating with my kids because I've always been here," Kingston claimed, adding that he'd missed all kinds of important experiences with his children, and yet Vince had never given him a WWE Title opportunity.

A brilliant segment, one of the best of the year so far, and it all led to Kofi's next big move...
