12 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 12)

10. Sex & Violence Explode... Again

Mandy Rose Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville cost Mandy Rose dearly at Fastlane, as her partner slipped on the ring skirt that SmackDown's Real Shooter had left sat on the apron while rooting around for plunder. Rose lost to Asuka, Fire & Desire (alternatively, Sex & Violence) argued, and their separation began.

Deville tried to redeem herself by wrestling Asuka last night. It didn't go well for her. The promising up-and-comer fell in less than three minutes, with 'The Empress Of Tomorrow' scoring another win via miscommunication. It was Sonya slipping on the apron this time, and while the finish was no less dumb than that we saw at Fastlane, it at least succeeds in pushing the angle forward.

There's a point to be made about Asuka needing shenanigans to defeat someone like Sonya, but we've already moaned about her enough. The Mandy/Sonya storyline is fine. It's moving forward logically, and while the finishes are weird and it's hard to predict how they might do as singles acts, this column has chosen to trust the process for now.
