It’s a sad state of affairs when you can sum up WCW icon Sting’s WWE career thusly: PPV losses to Triple H and Seth Rollins, the latter of which directly led to the end of his wrestling career.

But unfortunately, that was basically Sting’s entire WWE career (save for two brief matches on Raw) after finally debuting to much fanfare at Survivor Series in 2014. Sting’s matches took place in 2015, but he announced his official retirement due to injuries sustained from a Rollins turnbuckle bomb at his Hall of Fame induction in 2016.

WWE should have been setting up for a Mania match for Sting – possibly the much-rumored bout against Undertaker – in 2016, but instead, they were inducting him into the HOF and riding him off into the sunset. It was a sad ending to a legendary career.
