12 Ups And 15 Downs For WWE In 2016

13. Women’s Title Musical Chairs

This is one area where you will find differing viewpoints, but we will list it as a “down” due to it being one change too many.

Some feel that the rapid-fire Raw Women’s Championship title changes in 2016 between Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks was completely overdone, while others believe that the title-swapping showed just how desirable the title was and how evenly matched the two women were. Both sides can be right on this issue.

Banks defeated Charlotte for the title three times on episodes of Raw, only to lose it back to Flair at the ensuing PPV each time. That’s six title changes in less than five months. It’s clear that the storyline here was that they had a heated rivalry in which either woman could win, but six title changes? Sasha has never successfully defended her title in any reign.

Sasha and Charlotte’s feud was declared “over” at Roadblock, so maybe we’ll see things settle down as we head into 2017, which would bode well for the new year.
