The Royal Rumble kickoff show featured a fatal fourway tag match between the Dudley Boyz, the Ascension, Jack Swagger and Mark Henry, and Damien Sandow and Darren Young, with the winning team earning spots in the Rumble match. Henry and Swagger would win the match, and then would go on to draw prime spots in the Rumble, #22 and #24 respectively. However, both men lasted less than a minute combined, with Henry being quickly dumped by the Wyatt Family and Swagger getting pulverized by Brock Lesnar. It was embarrassing on some levels, with two former world champions being treated like low-level jobbers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoqND7UhdYQ It also rendered the entire pre-show match to qualify for the Rumble a joke. The winners were simply cannon fodder. Lame.
