12 Wrestlers Who Suffered The Most From WWE WrestleMania 36

Between Goldberg and the golden shovel...

Boatloads of wrestlers emerged from WrestleMania 36 smelling like roses.

The Firefly Fun House match was the most interesting and creative thing Bray Wyatt has done in WWE, whether working as 'The Fiend' or 'The Eater of Worlds,' and erased most lingering memories of the Goldberg squash. The Undertaker hasn't looked as bad*ss as he did pummelling AJ Styles through the Boneyard in years. Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman were finally coronated, signalling the beginning of their first runs as true headliners. Rob Gronkowski, lol, will soon be chasing bigger things than the 24/7 Championship. Aleister Black should finally get that long-awaited push after splattering Bobby Lashley. The list goes on.

On the other side of the equation, a list of stars undermined and pushed down the ladder at 'Mania. Such things are inevitable. In wrestling, someone often needs to move down for another to ascend, so while each of the wrestlers within were left in a weaker position after the event compared to when they walked in, not all of them are huge problems. Some will recover soon enough, while others were punching above their weight in the first place.

Let's run through them.

12. Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley's wrestling character is that of an idiot.

WrestleMania 36 made it so, with 'The All Mighty' snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by following his wife's instructions when the bout was won. Lana, renowned wrestling mind that she is, called for a Spear when Bobby should've spiked Aleister Black. Lashley listened, when for the Spear, got booted in the head, and lost. Poor bugger.

What's annoying about this is that Lashley actually looked good up to that point. His work was bruising and impactful as he took the fight to Black, but the goofy finish does him no favours. While he was only brought in to lose, a more thoughtful, well-constructed finish could've seen Bobby leave 'Mania with minimal damage. Instead, WWE is pushing forward with what looks like a split storyline.

WWE has struggled with what to do with Lashley since he returned. The Rusev/Lana love triangle gave him a spotlight, though he was the tale's least important piece. Harnessing this physical beast's immense athleticism is the key to maximising him, as his Impact run proved, but alas. That has never been on the agenda here.
