Hall of Fame induction: 2013

Trish Stratus managed to do what Lita could not the following year: leave WWE with her reputation and dignity intact. Whereas Lita was humiliated after losing, Trish topped Lita to win – and retire – as the WWE Women’s Champion in 2006.

Stratus would come back and wrestle a handful of matches between 2008-11, but seemed to retire for good after that, being inducted in 2013 and staying out of the ring. Then came the first women’s Royal Rumble in 2018, which drew Trish out of retirement. Then the Evolution PPV opened the door for a tag match.

But Stratus would get one last moment in the sun in 2019 when she fought Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam in a clash of eras. Flair won (naturally), but Trish wowed in what she billed as her farewell match.

Seeing Lita make a post-pandemic comeback certainly makes you think the door has to be open for Stratus if she feels game, but that Charlotte match was probably the perfect coda, and everything else would be chasing that high.
