12 WWE PPV Buys In 2015 Ranked (And What They Mean)

2. Royal Rumble - 145,000 Buys

The Royal Rumble has always been a strong draw for WWE, and at 145,000 buys in 2015, it is still doing the sort of numbers that B-show PPV events did before the WWE Network. Clearly there's a mainstream audience who really buy into seeing the Rumble gimmick and the unpredictability of who will go on to main event WrestleMania. The number also shows that a big chunk of WWE's audience only comes in for the Rumble to 'Mania season. Why don't they sign up for the Network? Perhaps because they don't watch WWE regularly, they don't understand the Network can just be cancelled after one month. In addition to the draw of the Rumble, this card also had Brock Lesnar versus John Cena versus Seth Rollins. That star power in one bout is also accountable for the level of buys. It actually ended up being the best WWE match of 2015, at least in the opinion of this reader.
