12 WWE PPV Buys In 2015 Ranked (And What They Mean)

1. WrestleMania 31 - 259,000 Buys

WrestleMania is WWE's crown jewel, and is by far their top drawing pay per view of 2015. That's entirely expected, the 'Mania brand name is so strong and is a draw in itself. A mainstream audience always comes in for the show, meaning that 'Mania was able to do 200,000 more buys than events like Money In The Bank. It wasn't even as if WWE promoted the event that well, with an underwhelming Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar build-up. Nevertheless, on the night, the event delivered big time. The Reigns/Lesnar match was fantastic. Sting should get some credit for helping to draw at the event, as there was genuine intrigue to see his first WWE match. But the real credit has to be Brock Lesnar. You'll notice a pattern on this list - the top five drawing PPV events had Brock Lesnar in a main event. It just goes to show that The Beast Incarnate really is WWE's top drawing star and worth the money they're paying him. The numbers also go to show that the PPV platform isn't dead, and the WWE Network (for whatever reason) isn't an attractive option to thousands of consumers.
