12 WWE Rematches That Are Better Than The Original Classic
9. Steve Austin Vs The Rock (Rebellion 2001)
The matches between The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin are legendary. Their WrestleMania trilogy of matches (XV, X-7 and XIX) are frequently sighted as some of the best matches of all time. Combining expert brawling, theatrics and loads of charisma, Austin and The Rock were made to wrestle each other. They could have great matches with just about anybody, but when they were in the ring at the same time it was magic. This was the case at Rebellion 2001 when 'The Texas Rattlesnake' and 'The Great One' squared off in a rematch from WrestleMania X-7 earlier that year. UK fans, who had endures some pretty rotten UK PPVs in the past, could hardly believe their luck when Austin vs Rock was announced in the top-liner. The two stars did not disappoint and had an incredible twenty minute match. As this was during the ECW/WCW Invasion angle, Austin was playing the heel which added a different dynamic. Following a series of ref bumps and interference from Kurt Angle and Christ Jericho, Austin pinned Rock to end the show on a high.
