12 WWE Superstars Without Direction Following WrestleMania 33

4. Gallows And Anderson

The former Raw Tag Team Champions were as forgotten about as their other main roster rivals in the shadow of an incredible Hardy Boyz comeback story at WrestleMania 33.

However, even away from the glare of Matt and Jeff's shock return, the duo have floundered from one listless programme to another in their first year with the company.

WWE doesn't seem to know how best to present them, outside of their early alliance with real-life friend AJ Styles. From the moment The Club were splintered, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have ably floated from comedy to serious and back again in unsatisfying feuds with The New Day and the Sheamus/Cesaro mismatched partners duo.

Despite winning the titles from the latter on the Royal Rumble pre-show back in January, the team have never looked in total control of the division, with their WrestleMania opponents gobbling up all the babyface and heel responses during the build-up to the multi-team clash.

The pre-existing relationship with Styles could bear new fruit in the coming weeks, with newly-minted babyface AJ possibly joining them on Raw's roster but likely to distance himself as per his recent change of attitude.

Alternatively, their natural charisma as a trio could trigger an unlikely babyface turn for the former champions, creating the possibility of actually amusing comedy rather than the tepid skits they've currently been presented with.
