13 Current WWE Superstars Destined For The Hall Of Fame

4. Rob Van Dam

rob_van_dam2 WWE Champion ECW Champion 6-time Intercontinental Champion 2006 Money in the Bank Winner One of the more recent additions to the WWE roster following his stint in TNA, Rob Van Dam is one of the most popular competitors in the history of the company. Though his time in ECW demonstrated his obvious aptness for playing a cocky heel, as well as his insane high risk move-set and wrestling ability, as soon as he stepped foot in the WWE these skills gave him a unique connection with the audience. Though he was a member of the nefarious WCW/ECW Alliance team, he was getting more positive reactions than most of the WWE superstars. His high-flying and deadly kicks made him a beacon for in-ring entertainment, and his laid-back attitude made him about as cool as it got in the company at the time. Following the Invasion angle, RVD would often be a fixture in the midcard, being a multi-time Intercontinental Champion and also the final European and Hardcore Champion. Though he was occasionally thrust into the main event scene and fitted into his role accordingly, his usual role in the early 2000s was as a show-stealer in the middle of an event, with his excellent matches against Chris Jericho, Christian and Jeff Hardy being a testament to his quality. When matches became hardcore, the excitement factor for his matches hit the roof, with his unique use of ladders and chairs bringing superb reactions from the crowd. At Wrestlemania 22, a victory in the Money in the Bank and the excitement surrounding the re-launch of ECW combined to give RVD his crowning glory, as he captured the WWE Championship at ECW One Night Stand against John Cena among a flurry of cheering fans. His reign would be cut short due to his own mistakes, but the moment was one of the most surreal in WWE history, and until he left in 2007 he would represent the emergent ECW brand with pride as one of the Originals. This brief renaissance which saw success for the brand with a mixture of ECW legends and up-and-coming young stars was in many ways down to the effective performances of RVD. After his time in TNA which earned him another World Championship, he is back and is looking as good as ever. Hopefully this run will provide the fans with some very good action, a few prominent highlights, and cement a spot in the Hall of Fame for Mr. Monday Nights.
