13 Essential Tips For Passing A WWE Try-Out
4. Cooperate (Even If You're Being Used)
In November 2007, The Nasty Boys apparently sabotaged their final chance with WWE by working a dark match with Dave Taylor and Drew McIntyre stiff prior to a SmackDown taping. Rumour has it they responded poorly to the invitation to tryout, despite being former champions, advancing their reputation for stiffness and danger even further for the perceived lack of respect.
Apparently, in further defiance of WWE officials, the pair played the crowd too much, setting preparation for the taping back. It's understandable, to be honest, that they would consciously fail to cooperate - not only does it fit their gimmick, it also fits almost everything known about their characters behind the characters. But the fact that it led to nothing says something about how you should act when you get a tryout. No matter whether you're a former champ looking for another shot, or an arrogant upstart, cooperation and paying respects up the ladder is important. It's a hierarchy for a reason, and stamping your feet in defiance isn't the smartest move.
