13 Reasons To Love Eddie Guerrero Vs. Rey Mysterio In WWE

13. The SmackDown Six Tag Matches

Between the summer of 2002 and February 2003 SmackDown really was a wrestling fan's wrestling show. Expertly booked by Paul Heyman, the blue brand presented logical storylines, entertaining segments and some damn fine wrestling matches on a weekly basis. A big part of SmackDown's success back then was thanks to the so-called 'SmackDown Six'. The six - Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Chavo Guerrero, Edge, Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle - seemingly wrestled each other every week but it was never quite enough. There were so many interesting combinations of singles, tag and multi-man matches, many of which inevitably pitted Rey and Latino Heat against one another. Giving WWE audiences unfamiliar with their previous work together a glimpse at what they were capable of, Rey and Eddie squared off in a few really good tag matches (reaming with Edge and Chavo, respectively) in the late summer/ early autumn months of '02. They also fought in the triple threat Tag Team Title match at the 2002 Survivor Series, their smooth-as-silk exchanges being one of the undoubted highlights and wowing the MSG crowd.
