6. Judgement Day

Rey did turn up at Judgement Day, despite Eddie warning him not to, for the first of many big grudge matches. Wrestled with an intensity not yet seen in their programme, the two wrestled a different match to their usual, with a lot more brawling and striking, but they nonetheless managed to insert some of their lucha offense into it, making it different from your standard 'WWE main event brawl'. After an opening flurry by Rey, Eddie managed to take control, targeting the masked man's injured ribs. Every time Rey tried to built a bit of momentum, Latino Heat would cut him off and go right back to the ribs. Eventually, however, Rey managed to rally and came back to punish Eddie some. It's not every day you see Rey hit someone with a BIG BOOT but it worked here. In an effort to immobilise Rey, Eddie threw him to the outside of the ring where he intended to stage a repeat of the 'brainbuster on the stairs' scene. Rey countered, blasting Eddie with an improvised 619 around the ringpost. Sensing his Uncle was in trouble, Chavo entered the fray, only to be taken out by Rey, who was on a serious roll at this point. It looked like Rey was about to snatch a victory following a (regular) 619, but Eddie caught him in mid-air with a vicious chairshot bringing about the DQ. This really was the only way to go here, as Eddie couldn't conceivably lose clean so soon after his heel turn and had he beat Rey clean, it would have ended the storyline. Eddie delivered a brutal beatdown with the steel chair in the post-match, naturally. And so the feud continued...
