13 WWE Title Contenders Who Never Stood A Chance

12. Kane Against Daniel Bryan - Extreme Rules 2014

Although Kane has reached the peak of the profession and held major championships in the WWE on various occasions, he was very recently booked in a match that he never really had a chance of winning. Obviously it would be great if every title match was unpredictable, but the WWE also has a responsibility to safeguard the prestige of its major championships. To achieve this, the champion needs to go on a winning streak to add value to the title. When Daniel Bryan defeated Batista and Randy Orton to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania, WWE€™s first aim was to solidify his status as champion. Kane was the superstar chosen to be Bryan€™s first victim at Extreme Rules a couple of months ago. Despite a well contested and quite entertaining match, Bryan unsurprisingly achieved his first title defence on pay-per-view.
