13 WWE Title Contenders Who Never Stood A Chance

10. Dolph Ziggler Against Sheamus - No Way Out 2012

If you ever need a superstar to throw into a major championship match when you don€™t know what to do €“ Dolph Ziggler is your man. Despite being a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, Ziggler has experienced many setbacks as a contender, often thrown into the title picture in a short-term programme to give the champion something to do. WWE were forced to do this in the least subtle way possible at No Way Out in 2012 when Ziggler was brought in to replace an injured Alberto Del Rio to face the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. The fact that Del Rio and Sheamus€™ feud was almost certain to continue once the Mexican aristocrat had recovered, meant that a Ziggler win was extremely unlikely. Not wanting to miss an opportunity to put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line, the WWE threw Ziggler into the match and gave Sheamus an unsurprising victory.
