Completing the trifecta of inexplicable WrestleMania loses for Bray Wyatt came only last year. In their WrestleMania rematch four years later, Bray Wyatt, now reincarnated as The Fiend, had returned to WWE seeking payback against The Viper, who had seemingly killed him when setting The Fiend on fire.

Similar to their previous match at WrestleMania 33, this bout was not about the bell to bell action, but was more focused on all the outside forces surrounding the bout. First, The Fiend was transformed back to his original look, shedding the burnt gear he had been sporting to that point. Then, Wyatt made his entrance via a giant jack in the box operated by his assistant Alexa Bliss. The match was also marred by the signature red lights that covered many of The Fiend's matches, pyro going off mid-match, and Alexa sitting on top of the aforementioned jack in the box with black goo oozing down her face.

Like their previous 'Mania clash, all the additions would have been easier to swallow if it had lead to a Fiend victory. But it was not to be, as The Fiend was hit with a single RKO and was down for the count in what would amount to Bray Wyatt's final match in WWE.
