13 WWE WrestleMania Matches Where The Wrong Person Won

7. Charlotte Flair Vs. Asuka - WrestleMania 34

Following her debut in NXT in September 2015, Asuka would embark on a lengthy, beloved winning streak. Across more than two and a half years, The Empress of Tomorrow won 233 consecutive matches, including the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match. Awaiting her at WrestleMania 34 was Charlotte Flair, whom she would challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Coming into The Showcase of the Immortals, WWE had every reason to cement Asuka's place firmly atop the women’s division. Giving credit where it is due, the two former NXT Women’s Champions more than lived up to the hype, delivering a very good match; arguably the best women’s match in the history of WrestleMania.

Despite this, Charlotte would defeat the former Kana, ending her undefeated streak at 914 days. While The Empress of Tomorrow’s streak would have to end eventually, the decision to do so at WrestleMania was even more puzzling, as not only did Asuka lose, but she was forced to submit for the first time in her career, WWE or otherwise.
