14 Things We Learned From The Prime Time Players On Talk Is Jericho
4. Thoughts On Kanyon
Jericho asks Darren if he's ever heard of Chris Kanyon, and he responds that he had, saying that Billy Kidman speaks very highly of him and that they were close. Chris talks about Kanyon's suicide and how his struggles with keeping his homosexuality a secret contributed to that. He says the two of them were close, and that all the boys knew he was gay but he'd never take the plunge and admit it. Jericho says it makes him sad because he wonders if maybe he'd have done what Darren did he might still be here. Young says it would have been much harder because the climate was considerably different then than it is now, and Jericho agrees, equating it to Rob Halford of Judas Priest not coming out until a few years ago because the world is a changed place. Darren adds that Kanyon was an incredible worker and a very innovative performer.
