14 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 29)

1. SoCal Uncensored Ascend

SoCal Uncensored and the Lucha Brothers took 'Match of the Night' honours with their tag team tournament finals, which was hampered only by what felt like a rushed finish. Scorpio Sky's two-on-one spot with Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix really could have used a couple more minutes.

Regardless, this was the most heated bout on the card. AEW had built it well with the episode one brawl, Christopher Daniels injury, and SoCal Uncensored's fiery promo work, and it didn't disappoint when they hit the ring.

What started as a straight-up fight evolved into a bout typical of AEW's excellent tag division so far, with SCU's desperation to avenge their fallen comrade and take the Tag Team Championships shining through. Big bombs dropped all around them. Raging against a malevolent, evil force, they looked like babyface gods in there, and when Pentagon threw Frankie Kazarian through the timekeeper's table, it looked like their days were numbered.

Sky scored a roll-up on Penta as Kaz recovered to know Fenix from the top rope. An unexpected triumph as many had the Lucha Brothers pegged for the gold, but it's hard to complain. SCU are so, so over, and few other wrestlers have broken out like SCU so far, though the finish will likely lead to a Full Gear rematch.
