14 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion 2021

10. Callis Goes Off

Don Callis is a cracking promo guy. This is already well-known, but he delivered some evidence prior to Rich Swann and Kenny Omega’s title vs. title contest.

Taking some interview time with Gia Miller instead of Omega, the IMPACT EVP addressed Swann’s comments from earlier in the night, about how the IMPACT locker room is his family. It was heartfelt from the World Champion, and then Callis went to town on Rich.

“There’s no lower form of life than a professional wrestler”, Don stated. He followed up with comments on how no one would come to save Swann if he needed saving, and how he really is an orphan. The guy didn’t hold anything back, adding a further layer to an already massive onion of a match.

When it comes time for year-end awards for 2021, Don must be a top contender for the Best on Interviews award. ‘The Invisible Hand’ has been tremendous throughout his entire run alongside the AEW World Champion, acting as a superb mouthpiece for someone who never needed a mouthpiece in the first place.
