14 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion 2021

9. Fire N Flava Extinguished

The Knockouts Tag Team Championships bout pitting Fire N Flava against Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering wasn’t quite up to scratch with the card’s previous contests, but it was still good. Jazz accompanying Jordynne and Rachael to ringside was a nice touch.

Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz were great in this, cornering Jordynne in their side of the ring, with Kiera in particular using her quick striking ability to hold their advantage. A tag to Rachael, however, brought with it a reinvigorated star. You could tell she was loving being back in the ring after years of squandering in NXT, with her fisherman’s spinebuster – shoutout to Hallowicked of CHIKARA fame – on Hogan crowning her and ‘Thicc Mama Pump’ the new champions.

It’s a shame Fire N Flava’s title reign has already ended but you can’t argue too much with IMPACT’s decision. They’d done all they could with the titles. Given the current lack of depth to the knockouts tag team division, new champions were needed just to provide fresh matches. Jordynne and Rachael worked well as a team, at least.

Major props to Tasha, by the way; she took a back drop over the ropes, landing hard on the apron, hitting an apron Cutter on Grace in the process. F*cking nasty.
