14 Ups & 3 Downs From NJPW/ROH G1 Supercard

10. Rumbles Are Great

Jushin Liger Great Muta
NJPW

Ostensibly a big bad Banter match, last night's Honour Rumble was tonnes of fun.

Entrants came thick and fast. The supposed 60-second intervals kept things moving, and there were all kinds of fun moments peppered throughout. Tomohiro Ishii and Minoru Suzuki reprised last year's hard-hitting rivalry. Rocky Romero ran wild with Forever Clotheslines as Ryusuke Taguchi directed traffic. The soon-to-retire Jushin Liger got an incredible pop. Haku showed up. THE GREAT MUTA entered at number 30, for God's sake!

A busy, crowded match boiled down to Muta vs. Liger an in an epic battle of the puroresu dads - or so we thought. Kenny King, who'd entered at number one but spent most of the match hiding on the outside, snuck back in, eliminated both, scored the win, and basked in the ensuing troll heat.

King paid for it with a face full of Muta's mist after the bout, the prick. Much deserved.
