14 Wild UFC Fights You'd Be A Fool To Miss In January

1. Conor McGregor Vs. Dustin Poirier - UFC 254

With Khabib Nurmagomedov out of the picture at this current moment, all eyes are on who will become the next king of the lightweight division. There are plenty of contenders who can stake their claim for a shot, but the winner of the UFC 257 main event between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier could have a gigantic say in the future of the 155lb weight class.

Both men have fought each other previously, with McGregor coming out on top after landing multiple heavy blows on Poirier before sending him crashing head-first into the canvas. However, that was six years ago and both men have improved significantly since their last encounter.

Considering Poirier has improved his boxing to a point that he's arguably one of the best boxers at 155lb and McGregor is the man with legendary left hand of doom, it's highly likely that these two are going to keep this fight standing.

Although it would be interesting to see what would happen if the fight hit the ground, it would be foolish to expect anything less than a savage knockout or a blood and guts kind of war between two elite combat sport athletes.
