14 Wrestlers Who Should Probably Regret Leaving WWE
5. Kurt Angle
The Olympic Gold Medalist unexpectedly left WWE in 2006 after a short stint in the newly relaunched "ECW" brand. Angle had been going through a variety injuries and personal issues during his final year with WWE. He asked for and was granted his release. Although Angle will probably tell you that he didn't regret leaving WWE when he did, there is no doubt that moving from the top of the pro wrestling industry down to TNA has an effect on the prestige of a career. There is no doubt in my mind that Kurt Angle has had a successful career in TNA over the past 8 years. The run has lasted longer than his first WWE run did! He won championship after championship, but could you imagine where his standing in wrestling history would be if he stuck around WWE? He missed out on a fair share of huge opportunities in WWE. Shortly after he left, WWE started running WrestleMania in huge, 75,000 seat stadiums. There's no question that Kurt missed out on "WrestleMania Moment" after "WrestleMania Moment." Lately, there has been speculation that there will be a return of Kurt Angle to WWE. He has stated on occasion that he would love to finish his pro wrestling career where it started. But will he? Only time will tell.
