14 Wrestling Gimmicks Blatantly Stolen From Hollywood

8. Kane - Halloween

Upon his unforgettable debut, Kane bore such a strong resemblance to Halloween's horror icon Michael Myers that WWE Magazine even compared the two themselves.

Much like Myers, Kane is a masked man who moves slowly but can employ a supernatural level of strength. He also similarly has an abundance of psychological scars and returns to confront his familial demons (namely a surviving sibling) after being in the abyss for over a decade.

Credit where it's due: Kane has evolved and transformed significantly since his debut to the extent that he can't be called a direct rip-off, but it's clear that the origins of his character are heavily indebted to John Carpenter's magnificent creation.

For the typically overblown standards of wrestling, this lift from pop-culture is positively subtle.
