14 WWE Wrestlers Who Defied Gravity Before Neville

9. Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka

The original gravity-defying man is this fella - Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka. And almost every wrestling fan over a certain age will know why. There was one move in particular that embodied the entire career of Superfly, and inspired men such as Mick Foley to take huge risks with their own bodies in the decades that followed. The Superfly Splash was quite the spectacle; but it was a moment for the ages when Snuka scaled a steel cage to dive down onto Don Muraco in October 1983, at the legendary home of WWE, Madison Square Garden. As well as Foley, the likes of Bubba Ray Dudley, Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman were all in attendance that night too - and cite the moment as key to their desire to get into the business. Snuka's daughter, Tamina, is currently a member of the main WWE roster, and uses the move herself in tribute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waakFr6PmUw
