15 Amazing Pro Wrestling NOAH Matches You Must See Before You Die

13. Kenta Kobashi Vs. Yoshihiro Takayama - April 25th, 2004

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytru0dNukKg During Kobashi€™s glorious reign as GHC Heavyweight Champion, he had to defend his belt against a wide variety of different opponents. Mat technicians, Olympians, devious cheaters, stiffer strikers, stronger opponents; he fought them all. Then, all of these different kinds of wrestlers were rolled into one: Yoshihiro Takayama, arguably the toughest wrestler in Japan at the time. Kobashi had his hands full with a wrestler who was bigger, stronger, and tougher than he was, as well as a man who had a longer reach, and who knew how to weaken Kobashi to the point where his Lariat arm was all but useless. But the never-say-die Champion kept fighting no matter how much the tougher Takayama kept overpowering him, and since he couldn€™t his right-arm to its fullest effect, Kobashi had to turn to his legendary Moonsault (A move that he couldn€™t use since he returned from extensive knee surgery). And when the crowd saw this, they went absolutely nuts. This match proved that Kobashi could go toe-to-toe with anyone, and the psychology, selling, and back-and-forth momentum shifts in this contest were off-the-charts. This is a must-see for any fan who loves Japanese wrestling.
