12. Tag Team Matches Never Have More Then Two Teams
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry-RAjlWvbc WWE has been known to throw more than two teams together for tag matches. Sometimes they have proven to be among the best matches in the company, such as TLC I and II, which truly elevated the careers of all the Superstars involved. However, seeing up to four different teams standing at each corner of the ring can quickly devolve into a mess of a match. In Japan, it is extremely rare to ever see more than two teams, with a regular maximum of three members per team, though four per team sometimes happens as well. This allows the match to focus on the dynamics between the wrestlers involved, allowing them to tell deeper stories in the ring. On the opposite side of things, in WWE, they sometimes go with a quantity-over-quality approach, throwing in as many people into a match as possible, just for the sake of giving those people TV time. The problem with this is that it is often unnecessary. Remember the 7-on-7 Divas Elimination Match at Survivor Series 2013? Why put so many people in one match, only for some of them to be eliminated with a single dropkick or the dreaded Rollup of Death? Most of the time, less is clearly more.
