15 Most-Decorated WWE Wrestlers To Never Win A World Title
15. Tony Garea
Titles Held: 5 (W)WWF Tag Team Championships Total Title Days: 782 Although he retired more than a quarter-century ago, Tony Garea is pretty recognizable to younger WWF/E fans. After retiring from the ring, Garea took a job as a road agent, which meant his on-screen appearances were usually as one of the unnamed officials who would periodically rush to the ring to break up a massive brawl. (He's seen at far right in this photo.) But during his in-ring career, Garea was a successful tag team wrestler who won five WWF tag titles with four different partners: Haystacks Calhoun, Dean Ho, Larry Zbysko and a young Rick Martel (twice). The New Zealand-born grappler was one-half of the (W)WWF Tag Champs for more than two years during an eight-and-a-half-year span from 1973 to late 1981. (Just missing the cut for this list is Mike Rotunda better known to fans today as I.R.S. and the father of Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas. He also held the WWF Tag Team Championships five times for a total of 548 days, twice with Barry Windham and three times with Ted DiBiase.)
Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fondly remembers watching WrestleMania III, IV, V and VI and Saturday Night's Main Event, came back to wrestling during the Attitude Era, and has been a consumer of sports entertainment since then. He's written for WhatCulture for more than a decade, establishing the Ups and Downs articles for WWE Raw and WWE PPVs/PLEs and composing pieces on a variety of topics.
