5. The Feud

All good things must come to an end and after two years of Edge and Christian tag team awesomeness, they went their separate ways. Edge was in the midst of a good singles push during the Invasion, winning the King of the Ring and challenging for the Intercontinental Championship, leading to Christian becoming increasingly jealous. The tipping point was when Christian went to speak to their grandmother (this is while they were still billed as brothers) after Edge had spoken to her, only to realise that she had hung up because she didn't see the point in talking to her less successful grandson. Cold. Blooded. So Christian gave Edge a one-man con-chair-to, smashed the King of the Ring trophy and joining the Alliance, the absolute Judas. Edge and Christian then feuded over IC Title for the next several months, trading wins and having a singles match at Unforgiven, a ladder match at No Mercy and, finally, a cage match at Rebellion.
