AJ Styles and Samoa Joe have been here before.

Well, not here, exactly, but in a high profile spot near the top of an entire promotion, at least. Headlining in TNA a decade ago can't quite compare with competing for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, but the efforts they had against one another were good enough to still be considered the greatest matches in company history - whatever company that professes to be in 2018.

The pair have been given elements of the usual Sports Entertainment drama in the build up, with Joe's increasingly personal assaults on 'The Phenomenal One' almost guaranteeing that they'll be working together beyond the 'Biggest Party Of The Summer'. To this end, it seems unlikely that they'll conclude hostilities here regardless of the result. Joe's strategy has been to use AJ's life in the industry against him, triggering an angry and emotional champion's rage. This rage will trigger a disqualification win for the 'Samoan Submission Machine' - only then will he realise what he's unleashed for their future fights.
