Rumble He Drew '14': 2010 How Was He Cursed?: Like Umaga, MVP was always someone that people were predicting to have a main event run in the future. Those people looked at MVP as being right on the cusp, month after month, but he never quite got to that level. To say that MVP's 2010 was the definition of "meh" would be an understatement. He had his fair share of good moments, getting to compete for titles on several occasions, but didn't win a single one of those matches. On top of that, unless you're some kind of huge MVP mark, or a wrestling encyclopedia, you probably couldn't name anything he did during the entire year. Before 2010 was over, MVP was asking WWE for his release, and they granted his wish on December 2nd. After a pretty decent stint with New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he was the first IWGP Intercontinental Champion, MVP would sign with TNA. He came in as an "investor", in a dumb storyline twist that even his fans weren't buying. After a heel turn and what was rumored to be a scheduled TNA World Title victory, MVP tore his meniscus, and had to be replaced by Bobby Lashley, who would go on to become the new champion. Even after recovering from his injury, he never quite had the same momentum, and has been taking a backseat to Lashley the entire time, all during a time when TNA was seeing some of its worst ratings and being removed from the lineup on Spike.
